A merchant, John McNeill’s store was near the Caswell-Person border and very near Leasburg. From file number C.R. 078.801.1, Department of Archives and History, Raleigh, North Carolina.
“A list of the debts which appears to be due to the estate of John McNeill, dec. according to the ledger formerly kept by the said deceased, known by the name of ledger C.”
