Henry Goins, negro, was born at Rockdale, Texas in 1863. About 1883 he was married to Mandy Washington who was born in 1868 in Freestone County, Texas. In June 1900 they were living at Seagoville, Texas where he was employed as a farmer.

Wilmer Goins, second child of Henry Goins and Mandy Wash­ington Goins. was born June 29, 1900 at Seagoville, Texas, ac­cording to Dallas County, Texas Birth Book 41, page 608.

A previous child of Henry Goins had died earlier. Wilmer Goins died February 3, 1957 in Dallas County, according to BVS File 695. He died in Dallas County September 30, 1962, according to BVS File 61193.

MILLS COUNTY, TEXAS

R. M. Goings received a warranty deed from D. Eckert and wife December 1, 1903, according to Mills County Deed Book 22, page 301. He also received a warranty deed from G. B. Stark December 16, 1903, ac­cording to Mills County Deed Book 22, page 323.

On November 3, 1905 R. M. Goings and his wife, Mrs. L. A. Goings of Mills County, gave a warranty deed to A. E. Weath­ers, receiving $4,500 in a real estate transaction recorded in Mills County Deed Book 24, page 275. He received a release from A. E. Weathers June 17, 1908, according to Mills County Deed Book 29, page 415.

R. M. Goings received a warranty deed from William W. Cromer to 25 acres of land located 12 miles northeast of Ft. Worth, at Bedford, Texas for $1,500 September 5, 1906, ac­cording to Tarrant County Deed Book 240, page 357. He re­ceived a transfer of a vendor’s lien note from Julia M. Reagan April 6, 1907, according to Mills County Deed Book 29, page 416. He received a warranty deed from Julia M. Reagan April 13, 1907 to a lot in North Ft. Worth Addition, according to Tar­rant County Deed Book 259, page 335.

R. M. Goings was declared “a person of unsound mind” Febru­ary 27, 1907, according to Tarrant County Probate Book 13, page 134.

R. M. Goings and Mrs. L. A. Goings gave a warranty deed November 12, 1907 to 24 acres of land, probably the Bedford property, according to Tarrant County Deed Book 265, page 508.

R. M. Goings received a warranty deed from R. M. Currie May 14, 1908 to 22 acres of land in the J. B. Eden Survey, according to Tarrant County Deed Book 289, page 508. He received a release from A. E. Weathers on 117 acres of land June 17, 1908, according to Mills County Deed Book 29, page 419.

R. M. Goings died in Travis County, Texas January 8, 1909 “while temporarily in that county”, according to a statement made by Mrs. L. A. Goings in Tarrant County Deed Book 320, page 428. She made the declaration in connection with a real estate trade with W. G. Booth January 14, 1910. She also men­tioned that they had four children, three of whom died in in­fancy, unnamed.

Iris K. Goings, feme sole, over 21, joined her mother in trans­ferring eight acres of land to W. G. Booth. Mrs. L. A. Goings of Beaver County, Oklahoma joined her daughter, Mrs. Iris K. Goings Phillips and her husband, J. T. Phillips of Logan, Okla­homa in giving another warranty deed to W. G. Booth March 1, 1912 to eight acres, according to Tarrant county Deed Book 398, page 133.

In connection with the sale of a lot in North Ft. Worth Addition Mrs. L. A. Goings gave an affidavit to the public that she was a widow on January 10, 1910. The affidavit was dated August 27, 1921, according to Tarrant County Deed Book 707, page 499.

Iris K. Goings, daughter of R. M. Goings and his wife, L. A. Goings, was born about 1888. She was married about 1908 to J. T. Phillips. In 1912 they lived in Logan, Oklahoma.

Roy A. Goins was born March 25, 1924 in Mills County in the Elkins Community, according to his obituary. He was a lifetime resident of Brown County, Texas. He was married there to Callie Caroline Muhle September 27, 1952. He was employed by the City of Brownwood and was a member of the Coggin Av­enue Baptist Church.

He died August 31, 1992 in Brownwood Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held September 3, 1992 at Davis-Morris Funeral Home in Brownwood, and he was buried in Wolf Val­ley Cemetery.

His obituary mentioned that he was survived by a brother, John Goins and three sisters, Cora Goins Bible, Ruth Goins Bien and Evelyn Goins Cole, all of Brownwood.

Sherri Goins, daughter of Roy A. Goins and Callie Caroline Muhle Goins, was born about 1958. She was married about 1978, husband’s name Rivard. In 1992 they lived in Brown­wood.

Jeannie Goins, daughter of Roy A. Goins and Callie Caroline Muhle Goins, was born about 1960. She was married about 1980, husband’s name Stelle. In 1992 they lived in Clearwater, Florida.

Darrell Goins, son of Roy A. Goins and Callie Caroline Muhle Goins, was born about 1963. In 1992 he lived at Zephyr, Texas.

Gary Goins, son of Roy A. Goins and Callie Caroline Muhle Goins, was born about 1967. In 1992 he lived in Brownwood.

T. B. Goyne and E. W. Taylor were the patentees to 638 acres of land in Mills County located 14.5 miles southeast of Goldthwaite, Texas, according to Mills County Deed Book 11, page 54. The land had been previously granted to M. E. P. & P. Railroad Company December 16, 1861 and was transferred to T. B. Goyne and E. W. Taylor.

MITCHELL COUNTY, TEXAS

Billie M. Goings was born June 28, 1930 at Westbrook, Texas. She was married September 24, 1955 to Russell P. Jenkins who was born at Blueworth, Minnesota November 17, 1929, ac­cording to Bernalillo County, New Mexico Marriage Book 70, page 42157. Billie M. Goings was a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico at the time of her marriage.
