GRAYSON COUNTY, TEXAS

W. P. Gawin was born in February 1843 in Kentucky, ac-cording to his enumeration in the 1900 census. He appeared in the 1900 census of Grayson County, Enumeration Dis-trict 112, page 7, precinct 6 as the head of a family com-posed of:

“Gawin, W. P. 57, born in KY in February 1843
A. J. 20, born in KY in October 1879,
son
Katie 13, born in TX in Nov. 1886, daughter
John 11, born in TX in August 1888, son
Porter W. 10, born in TX in July 1889, son”

W. P. Gawin was apparently a widower in 1900.

Guynes and Vi-ola Isabelle Perkins Guynes, was born May 12, 1906 in Atoka, Oklahoma, according to Patricia Ann Guynes Smith, a daughter who in 1989 lived in Pottsboro, Texas. He was married April 18, 1931 to Willie Bernice McCarroll who was born February 9, 1909 at Leonard, Texas to Wil-liam Charles McCarroll and Susan Francis Cannon McCar-roll.

Willie Bernice McCarroll Guynes died at Denison Septem-ber 13, 1955, and William Kenneth Guynes died there No-vember 9, 1984. Children born to them include:
