Imogene Going was born October 16, 1921 at Waxahachie. She was married June 19, 1947 to William Wright, Jr, ac-cording to Lea County, New Mexico Marriage Book 14, Certificate 8054. Both were residents of Tatum, New Mex-ico at the time of their wedding. The groom, age 28, was born at Pocahontas, Arkansas July 6, 1918..

Andrew Goins and his wife, Clemie I. Goins were listed in the 1926 edition of the Cleburne city directory living at 617 E. Chambers.

Christine Goins, negress, was born in Waxahachie, Texas March 5, 1910. “Christine Goins” lived at 1102 Highland Avenue in Abilene, Texas, according to the 1934-35 city directory.

Christine Goins was married March 26, 1938 to Mack Jamison of Lubbock, Texas at Clovis, New Mexico, ac-cording to Curry County, New Mexico Marriage Book 19, page 378. Mack Jamison was born in Dewitt County, Tex-as January 5, 1894. Later they were divorced. “Christine Goins” was married to William G. Daniels August 17, 1938, according to Fannin County, Texas Marriage Book Z, page 77.

Elbert G. Goins, negro, was married to Hattie Pruitt February 20, 1899, according to Ellis County Marriage Book J, page 331. He was remarried to Mrs. Maggie M. Johnson December 30, 1911, according to Ellis County Marriage Book Q, page 146.

Elbert G. Goins was a porter for H. Brann & Company in Ft. Worth in 1912-13, according to the city directory. He resided at 1000 Morgan with his wife, Maggie M. Johnson Goins and Belle Goins, assumed to be a daughter. From 1912 until 1934 the family maintained its home at 1100 White. In 1918, the last year that Elbert G. Goins appeared in the directory, he was a porter for J. B. Davidson. He wrote his will December 19, 1922 and died August 30, 1923 at age 40, leaving a $1,500 estate to his widow.

Maggie M. Johnson Goins continued at 1100 White until 1934, working for various hotels and cafes in Ft. Worth. She gave a warranty deed to the City of Ft. Worth May 29, 1934 to a lot in Lake Park Addition, according to Tarrant County Deed Book 1212, page 513.

Belle Goins lived at 110 Elm Street in 1918, 1100 White in 1920 and in 1923-24 lived at 1201 Humboldt. She received a warranty deed from L. C. Bruner January 3, 1921 to a lot in McConnell Addition in Ft. Worth, according to Tarrant County Deed Book 667, page 47. She continued there in 1925 when she paid off the property.

Mae Ella Goins operated a beauty shop in Waxahachie and lived at 603 East Main Street, according to the 1967 city directory.

Mattie Goins, negress, died March 31, 1913 at age 20 in Chisp, Texas of tuberculosis, according to Ellis County Death Book 2, page 69.

Thomas Newton Goins was born May 28, 1867 in Tennessee. Later he was a resident of Ellis County. In 1950 he was a resident of Robinson’s Rest Home at Lancaster, Texas. Prior to that time he had made his living by operating a soft drink stand. He died of cerebral thrombosis May 12, 1952 at age 84 at the rest home, according to Dallas County Death Book 23, page 559. He was buried in City Cemetery, Waxahachie, according to T. M. Marks, informant for the death certificate.

Frank Gowan died June 14, 1936[?] in Ellis County, according to BVS File 30229.

Martha Gowan, a negress who was born November 9, 1883 at Italy, Texas died April 16, 1942 at her residence at 126 Aiken Street in Waxahachie. She was listed as a widow and was shown to be the daughter of Owen Hardeman Gowan who was born in Ellis County and his wife, Winnie Davis Gowan who was born in Mississippi. The death records of Martha Gowan appears in Ellis County Death Book 5, page 239.

He was a porter for Renfro’s Drug Store living at 3139 Lipscomb in 1943 and at 3421 Lipscomb in 1945 with his wife, Cora M. Gowans. Harrison Gowans was married to Leana Ellis in June 1944, according to Tarrant County Marriage Book 90, page 49. Of Leana Ellis Gowans nothing more is known. Hattie E. Gowans, a maid, in 1943 also lived at 3139 Lipscomb. Harrison Gowans died in Dallas County May 16, 1961, according to BVS File 26750.
