French, according to Brown County Deed Book 318, page 480. C. J. Gowan, a truck driver and Opal R. V. Gowan appeared at 1017 North Texas Avenue, Odessa, Texas, according to the 1959 city di­rectory. On May 11, 1959 C. J. Gowan and Opal R. V. Gowan “of Nolan County, Texas” received a warranty deed from Beulah Willis to lots in Sweetwater, Texas, according to Nolan County Deed Book 175, page 129. On June 2, 1964 they sold the property to Jesus Torres for $1,200, according to Nolan County Deed Book 194, page 294.

On September 11, 1964 C. J. Gowan and Opal R. V. Gowan “of Brown County” received a warranty deed from M. F. Cunningham to a lot in Coggin Addition, Brownwood, ac­cording to Brown County Deed Book 519, page 87. They sold the property to Elizabeth Bullion October 7, 1964, ac­cording to Brown County Deed Book 519, page 329. On July 23, 1971 Opal R. V. Gowan gave a warranty deed to Howard D. Dickey to 67.33 acres of land in Palo Pinto County, Texas, “her separate property” according to Palo Pinto County Deed Book 397, page 255.

On September 16, 1970 C. J. Gowan and Opal R. V. Gowan received a warranty deed from Kenneth J. Storey to a lot in Anderson’s Addition, Coleman, Texas, according to Coleman County Deed Book 447, page 882. On December 27, 1972 they gave a release of deed of trust to Ophelia Proctor to the property, according to Coleman County Deed Book 454, page 1063.
