… Samuel Gibson Esq late of Port Gibson in the County of Claiborne and State of Mississippi propritor of the said Town of Port Gibson, in and by his last will and testament bearing date the 24 day of Nov 1817 … in the County afsd, did authorize his executors in the said will named, to sell lots in and adjoining to the said Town of Port Gibson … the said Executor, towit, John Gibson, Joseph Moore, and William King … did survey, lay out and mark adjoining to the said Town of Port Gibson a suburb by the name and style of the suburb St Mary of Port Gibson, and having given public notice did the 25th of July 1818 expose to public sale … sundry lots so surveyed laid out and numbered as in the plan of said suburb, connected with the old plan of the town, duly Recorded in the said County of Claiborn will appear:
… said John Gibson, Joseph Moore and William King executors as afsd … in consideration of the sum of 175 dollars to them in hand paid by William A A Chisholm … confirmed unto the said Chisholm all the right title … to a certain lot piece or parcel of land … in the suburb St Mary afsd adjoining the original Town of Port Gibson and designated in the plan of said suburb St Mary by the number 1 in square No. 17. …
