1870 US Census also has a “Charle Gines” age 5 b. abt 1865. They are living in Nashville Ward 6, Davidson, Tennessee Dwelling Number 83. Interestingly the names and ages are almost identical. The copy is very light, so it is difficult to telll if the spelling is Gines, or if there is supposed to be another letter between the “G” and the “i”. It is probably a different family – but possibly a duplicate (maybe they moved during the Census and were counted twice).
