On 11 January 1810 James Going’s widow Nancy Goins appointed Benjamin Goins of adjoining Surry County, North Carolina, as her attorney to sue Harman Bowman of Surry County [Surry DB 3:351] and she sued Harmon Bowman in Patrick County on 27 April 1810 [Orders 1810-21, n.p.].

On January 11, 1810 Nancy Goins, widow of James Goins, appointed Benjamin Goins of Surry County, North Carolina her lawful attorney in a suit against Harman Prowman. Witnesses were James S. Gains and John S. Gains, according to Surry County Deed Book 3, page 351. Surry County touches Patrick County, Virginia.
