Mrs. Bertha Gowen died February 26, 2000 and was buried in East Lawn Palms Cemetery, according to her obituary in “The Tucson Citizen:”
“Bertha Gowen, born March 16, 1920 in Wise County, Texas, died Saturday, February 26, 2000. Loving wife of Kenneth Gowen; beloved mother of Jerry Quinn; sister to Harvel Phillips; will be greatly missed by her numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews. A graveside farewell will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 29, 2000 at East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Rd.”
